Favorite Eleven Games of 2011 01/07/2012
It feels like everybody is doing one of these, and as I'm not one to be left out of the fun I thought I might as well too. Here are my top eleven favorite games that I played in two thousand eleven. Deus Ex: Human Revolution E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Battlefield 3 (Multiplayer) Sanctum Portal 2 Bastion And that's all I've got. If I think of more or decide to write up why I liked these games I'll be back to do so. Add Comment So... Origin and Battlefield 01/02/2012
Yea, it's not great. Installed on my laptop for BF3. Works as intended, but it's copying too much directly from steam. Especially the in game overlay, the only differences there are that it doesn't pause your game when you open it and you can't use it to take screenshots. So, overall, I give it a meh. Battlefield 3... Battlefield 3... I had fun with the Bad Company 2 campaign, it was diverse, unique to an extent, and threw in more than one curveball, even if the story was a huge pile of what. I didn't play the multiplayer, I assumed that everyone had already left it for the latest installment, which was fine by me. I never buy games just for the MP, and even if I do end up playing online a lot, I usually finish the campaign first. This is not the case with Battlefield 3. I have yet to finish the campaign, and I don't think I will. It's just too generic. There's no variation except for the vehicle sections, which are just glorified rail shooters, the graphics are unimpressive, and don't even get me started on the story. NUKES NUKES NUKES NUKES that's all I really got from it, oh and the Dima sections where I had to read the subtitles and try not to die were just WONDERFUN. Multiplayer, as I said earlier, is really wonderfun. I love it. Squad based combat with a couple of friends on Metro or Firestorm is the best online I have played in ages. Dice did something right with this one. And that's all I have. WONDERFUN is new word. I know your out there, don't make me set up the laser tripwire mines. Makes Cents 11/03/2011
So I've decided to put a Google Adsense thing on the side of my blog, right under the homepage button. Usually I'd take a torch to any advertisements on any website I own, but after thinking about this and looking at the adthing itself, I feel a bit differently. The one type of ad I can't stand is something that interrupts the service I'm receiving/giving (eg. Before video ads on YouTube), but sidebar ads are... Different. Especially since I can control the size and location of the ad, and if people don't like it I can remove it without any problems. It's also a good way for me to pay off Weebly for the hosting every two years, although I'll probably make barely enough to even cover an amoeba. Too long; didn't read: Can remove ad if readers hate, helps pay for blog hosting, MICROBIOLOGY. P.S. I removed the tags thing since it looked like a very long turd of words and was utterly useless. P.P.S. "May take up to four days for ads to appear on the live version of your website" LOL K GUYS GUESS YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT. GOTY 2012 10/24/2011
I was on one of those fanpages for one of those groups just now, when I spotted a post I just couldn't resist, written so simply and elegantly that I just had to give it some attention: "Best game of 2011??" The obvious contenders for GOTY 2011 are games like Skyrim, Battlefield 3, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, so I'll piece apart each of these a bit. Don't expect this to be good, I don't usually do stuff like this. Skyrim is coming at us like the big awkward metaphor it is, and so many people are so hyped up for it and so expectant and blah blah blah. Personally, this is what I am now calling Brink Syndrome. Brink Syndrome has two cures, the first being that the game is released and it's everything the fanbase expected it to be, and the second is that is sucks arse. Now while I don't think Skyrim is going to be a cure of the latter description, it's certainly not going to be of the former either. The hype has reached a point of no return, where no amount of dragons or Dragonbourns(?) can make it what people want it to be. This isn't really much of a review of the game itself, but I haven't been keeping up with Skyrim since I don't really give a flying виджет. Next on the list is Battlefield 3 and WHOOOOO what a battlefield it is. The first thing that comes to mind is the rivalry between B3 (I refuse to use the term BF3 because I'm hip) and CM3 (Again, I don't want to use CoD:MW3jibberjabber because a cod is a fish and NOTHING ELSE SHUT UP NOW). The point of getting involved in this fight is more null than zero gravity right now since if someone likes a franchise the odds of them giving it up for a different one - superior or not - are lower than the chance anyone will care about this blog post. And now that that's over with, some actual substance. Next time, I'm due for my daily brain transplant. YouTube 10/16/2011
I'm starting up my YouTube again! :D Yesterday began a bold new journey across Mars; dual wielding, shotgunning, exploding, and alien face stomping. Go check it out! My Geometry Teacher is in the Diablo 3 Beta 09/15/2011

So, guys, the other day I was thinking about past projects of mine, and I remembered this Source engine mod I was making. I tried to find some of the files from it to show ya'll - maybe a map, or some of the terrible voice acting I did. - but since the great hard drive failure of a few months ago, most of my stuff has been really disorganized (I bet you TOTALLY didn't know that). I did find a terrible facemap that I think was supposed to be me and one map that I had to convert twice because the Source SDK had some update since I made the file or something (I dunno lol), but when I did get it open I found the worst pyramid EVER. I mean, it was kinda good for my talent at the time, but WOW. I don't think I'll upload anything, mostly because it's more crap than I remember. I don't even remember what the story was for the mod. But yea, doing that got me inspired again. AGAIN. I know, I already have one too many projects on my plate, but I just felt like story-boarding something. So I kinda did. I really like it to, I wrote it all out for a mod or a video game, but I might end up converting it to something for Oblivious. In unrelated news, I finished the LAST EPISODE OF LOST earlier. SPOILER ALERT. -Everyone's dead.- SPOILER ALERT. Also; I got Fallout 3 last week, and I played some of it. Overall, it's a better experience than New Vegas, but NV seemed easier than 3. Not in a game difficulty kind of way, but in a general sort of manner; 3 had more dark and creepy areas, less companions, oh and don't drink the water. New Vegas was brighter, more friendly, and most of the water was drinkable without having to worry about a third arm growing out of my stomach... Or scientists putting their quantum harmonizers in my photonic resonation chambers. Hiatus 07/08/2011
I'm going on a break for a while. I know I have a lot of unfinished work, but I've been so bogged down lately, and certain elements of my work are becoming frustrating. To be specific; I'll be away from my websites, YouTube, and Oblivious (Yes, it's still in dev). I'm sorry if this upsets anyone, but I've hardly been getting any mail lately from my viewers so I doubt I will be. T-T-T-TITLE BREAKER 07/04/2011
What's up, guys? Yea, that's great. Listen, if a man in a turquoise jumpsuit asks any of you for the time, tell him that the brown bear weeps at dawn. And whatever you do, don't let the octopi take the diamonds! The world lies in your hands! |
